Cuz's wedding, 19 June 09 @ Butterworth, Penang

I just got to know from my another cuz that she will be getting married 3 days before her actual day and yeah, why my mom never inform me? I wanna go back Butterworth, which I've mentioned on and off after my wedding on 27 Dec 08. I quickly called my mom and asked if I can attend, and then I quickly check on my manager's MSN and asked if I can apply leave on 19 June. Everything went perfectly smooth and we really had a wonderful time at Butterworth & Penang!

My cuz, and I haven't see her for years.... it's years!

My cuz, previously she was my bridesmaid too and again she was the bridesmaid in tis wedding. She just loves to be bridesmaid cause she likes to dress up and make up!

My aunty.... she and me same kind, durian lovers. Hehehe....

From left to right, husband and wife, my mom and then me and Justin.

The boy that always had the privilege to be *door opener* for the groom.

Durian.... I tell you, Penang's durian is seriously incomparable. Eat and you will not forget. Or eat and you no longer want KL's durian.

The fleshy, sticky, bitter durian... .awwwwwww. Look at this and I'm saliva-ling. Ish.

My aunty with all the kungfu ... haha.

Aunty busy with durian, daughter busy with homework. She's only 3 and she's just so smart! She can read the whole english storybook without you coaching her how to read. And her maths are like Std1 yet she can finish them all without help. Is she the next genius? Hope so.. hehe.

About 6pm, we left to Penang and overnight at my bro's house. Thanks for belanja-ing tis seafood, my request. Haha... Tis restaurant is near the jetty, and the last corner restaurant.

Lots of food for you to choose and they will cook as per request.
Kangkung belacan ~ my favorite

Hei Gor ~ I'm not sure english call wat, maybe is mantis prawn? I dunno.. =P

Sweet and sour crab ~ my favorite...still Fatty crab in Taman Megah, PJ is the best!

Steam pomfret fish....

And the hammer we used to kock kock the crab. When I first saw tis hammer, I was laughing like mad. Isn't tis type of hammer use for hammering nails? I wonder if tis hammer serves two purposes.... LOL

With my eldest bro and his gf. *OMG, I look so round here... arrggh*

My 2nd bro on the left and eldest bro on the right.. don't look like me rite..

And after the seafood dinner, we went for muachi. But ok ok only la. Still gurney drive has better mua chis.

And Sunday, after church at Penang, before we left to KL, it was a must to have asam laksa. But Justin said my asam laksa taste better. Haha... so tis means I can open an asam laksa stall? Hopefully....
Tat's all for my Butterworth/Penang trip. Next trip will be saying Hi to Bali! =)

Give me a moment

Ok, I just need a moment of break, just to express and be LOA = Lack Of Attention! Whatever you want to say, just say it.... well, one thing caught my attention last night and yeah, this is something for all of you to ponder! Yes, all of you..... You can say someone did not appreciate you, but do you think if that someone being appreciated as well? Easy answer : If that someone is being appreciated, of course you are appreciated... otherwise, NO! Easy case, if you want to say someone did not appreciate you, that person should be the head/boss of that particular thing/work. Am I right? But, human nature is just like this, everything will be pushed to someone who is higher than you and yeah, the person who is higher than you does not appreciate you. I think this is a bit silly because if the person who is higher than you is not being appreciated, how can the person below you is appreciated as well? And finally, I can also say someone higher than me did not appreciate me. And the someone higher than me will say the someone higher higher than him/her did not appreciate him/her. This discussion is just like a space shot, going higher and higher, in the end, the main question will stop at the TOP-PEST level! The BIG BOSS! Ok, I do not know why I'm writting this, first time in my blog I'm being sentimental yea.... Btw, I just got myself a nice lunch at Jalan Batai, fish paste noodle and then 2 pisang goreng... but I'm still not satisfied! Kinda of geram.... Ish ish ish! But but, not everything in this world can satisfy you, you can only be satisfied if you change your mindset. I can give you RM1million, can you be satisfied? When you used up all your money, you will say... cheh, so little, kedekut la. See, nothing in this world can satisfy you, but you can only make yourself satisfied if you CHANGE YOUR MINDSET!!! Is your mindset that controlled how you think, how you react, how you behave and how you response! Do not let your mindset to overule your whole being.... then you will be ruined!

I guess this paragraph of expression is good enough, now.. back to work! =D

I know :
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

The things I need the most now!

I'm seriously sleepy at this time and please introduce me something to cure my sleepiness! I'm totally out of idea now, my mouth is busy chewing but after finish chewing, the sleepiness came back. All I need now is BED! After the weekend trip to Penang, sort of a really tiring trip, rush here and there to get things done and to fulfill my desire that it's a must to eat Penang food before I'm back to KL.
Bed........this is what I really need now! When I think of the king size bed in my room, the more sleepy I will be. Even when I'm typing this... my eyes are getting smaller and smaller, my brain can no longer think! Besides, body is getting weak and yeah... I want my bed now!

The 2nd thing that I'm missing is Age of Empire III. Currently addicted to the multiplayer AOEIII. Me and hubby combo-ing and fight against the computer... moderate level and we managed to conquer but Hard level....I think the computer is cheating, how can they earn so much coins+wood+food in the few minutes time frame! Cheating.....

This game is seriously addictive! I started off with AOEII and now, abandon II and move forward to III, graphic is nicer and it's 3D! Awesome....

Stronger from Hillsong @ This is our God album

I'm currently addicted to this song, STRONGER from the latest Hillsong album, This is our God. Whenever I'm sleepy or bored, I will just play this song and somehow, I felt so energized! Indeed this song has made me stronger! It keeps me awake of the so many things that happened in my life that I will never let myself be defeated but to grow fonder and stronger in Him! It reminds me of all the things that He had done and is going to do for me, they were all priceless, countless and unbelievable! Even if I'm going through stages of fire and storms and thorns, I know deeply that God is with me and He's holding my hands, walking side by side, going through the every steps of thorns together. All I need to have in me is not parang or fire extinguisher, but a STRONG heart and faith.
I introduced this song to my hubby but he was not really into this kind of slow moving song... and I was laughing away with his response towards this song. He's jazzy, so jazzy song suits him better! Get him more Israel breed songs.... and he will love them for sure!
For chords, you can get them here:
Stronger Chords

Verse 1:
There is Love
That came for us
Humbled to a sinner’s cross
You broke my shame and sinfulness
You rose again victorious
Verse 2:
Faithfulness none can deny
Through the storm
And through the fire
There is truth that sets me free
Jesus Christ who lives in me
Chorus:
You are stronger You are stronger
Sin is broken
You have saved me
It is written Christ is risen
Jesus You are Lord of all
Verse 3:
No beginning and no end
You’re my hope and my defence
You came to seek and save the lost
You paid it all upon the cross
Bridge:
So let Your Name be lifted higher
Be lifted higher
Be lifted higher

Remember, when you are weak or you felt that you are lost in your life, listen to this song! I will assure you that 100% you will be energized and be stronger because Christ rose victoriously and He paid everything on the cross. There's no reason for us to be weak and defeated! Live life to the fullest because you still have tomorrow to go and why still looking at the past? Leave all the past to God's hand and He will take control of every single pieces of them! =)

Kid's Breakfast!

Today was like a havoc in the office because our heavy breakfast don't seem to be perfect! First of all, the rice arrived first before all the ingredients and all the hungry employees including me, lining up patiently waiting for the uncle to bring the rest of the ingredients, like eggs, peanuts, ikan bilis and sambal. Later on, when the ingredients arrived... the next issue was no plates and spoon! The queue in the pantry getting longer and longer... everyone was busy talking and laughing .. kinda havoc and happening rite!

When the uncle arrived with the spoon and plates, one of the engineer said to the uncle, "Hari ini uncle macam superstar kan. Semua orang tunggu uncle kat sini!" I heard that and I was like..... LOL = LAUGHING OUT LOUD, but only in my heart la. =.=" Not really got comment to say. Haha.... he was actually the very impatient guy to queue up, walking few trips to the pantry to spy if the breakfast has arrived, and after finished the first round breakfast, he will go and take 2nd round!

The plate arrived, and everyone was kinda shocked with the size of the plates on the table! I was trying to measure the size of the plate with my face.... and sad to say, my face is bigger than the plate. Lolz... some even took two plates, one specially filled with rice and the other for all the ingredients. And we all burst out with laughter looking at that. This size is definitely not enough for me...
Looks big rite... but......see below

I don't need to stretch out my fingers to measure the size of the plate. I'm still not full after this breakfast.... even it looks like a mountain!
Anyway, I'm still thankful that the *cost cutting is only on the plate size, but not on the food itself. Are they sending signals that HP employees must start to diet? Hohoho...Most importantly, we still have food to eat... hehehe.

Lo Mai Kai @ Sticky Glutinous Rice

I believe chang season is over now and I wish if I would know how to wrap all the ingredients in the leaf but I haven't reach that level yet. One day I hope.. Lo mai kai is just like chang, just that both are cooked in different way and most importantly, it is much more easier! I'm bored with always eating the same food and why not try something different. I even tried my own pau and it can only be eaten when it's hot or just out from the steam oven. If you leave the paus overnight, it will be as hard as a stone. =D
First of all, you need to soak the pulut rice overnight. Then steam over medium/low heat for 30mins. Fry shallots and garlic until fragrant, add in the steamed pulut rice, stir well and add in the seasoning like light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, a dash of salt, some pepper, oyster sauce, and a little of chicken stock. Stir well and you're done with the rice making!

To prepare for the chicken, you can marinade the chicken with some soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil and pepper and leave them overnight. Fry shallots and garlic, and stir fry the chicken and add in mushroom. Add a little bit of cornflour to thicken whatever little bit of sauce there is. Finally, lay out the chicken and mushroom at the bottom of the pan (I'm actually using baking non-stick pan). Put the rice on top and press it down with a spoon until compact. Make sure it is really compact otherwise you will not have sticky glutinuous rice. Add little bit of water (not too much, just to moisten it a bit) and steam for another 30 minutes or so.

After 30-40 mins, it turned out this! Successful?? Hehehe...

And I overturned the pan... look at the yummy chicken! Hubby said: Wow, where can get such lo mai kai with plentiful of chicken outside? Haha...

Aih, one of the failure is I didn't compress well enough so that rice didn't stick well. Anyway, learn from mistake. First try and it turned out this.. not bad rite. I still have half a packet of pulut rice and when is the next time I shall cook this?

Bilar from Stockholm, Sweden!

Bilar is always my forever faithful ever loving sweet. Bilar in Swedish means Car! So, the gummies are actually car shaped like and they named the gummy Bilar, means Car. What a creative name. It has three colors, green, cream and pink. I love the cream color gummy the most! Taste just like mint chewy gum but still it has a unique taste and I just do not know how to describe it. Mix feeling kind of taste.... too delicious to be denied. Have a bite and you will finish the whole pack within 10 mins *applies to those with big giant mouth... hehehehe*.

Thanks to Joakim Hardell, our trainer from Sweden, currently no longer our trainer or our delivery lead but he's now promoted and doing something different. Thanks that eventhough you changed position, you still remember Customer Access KL. Hehe....

Me and Yen Fen, always gila over these sweets and yeah, we aren't allowed to take pics in office, so we had to hid under my cubicle just for a shot with Bilar! Sssshhhhh everyone. See it, forget it and keep quiet yea.

With the customer access team, plan to send these photos to Joakim to let him know how much we treasure Bilar and how much we love Bilar and finally we still remember you!

Joakim is with us! Wohoooo.... thanks to Facebook! After this photo, I actually look for the flight to Sweden, how much does it actually cost for return flight for 2 persons. How I wish I can go there one day and meet all of them... hehehe. Will my dream come true? God knows.... =)

Birthday is all about glorious food!

This year my birthday celebration was just so different. Instead of receiving presents and presents, but I received more food than usual. It's just a food blessing, well, let's not talk about weight now because this is a special occassion. Heavenly food is just like heaven on earth! I just love good food, but not all the time yea, otherwise my salary will not cover big eater like me. Ooopsss, big eater pulak. No worries, I'm still maintaining and watching closely on my weight. Guess I should get more weighing machines and place every corner in my house.

Friday 29 May 2009, 1pm (Lunch)
It was Friday and I still had to work. So, hubby brought me out to Kenny Rogers in PBD for lunch.

What a pathetic meal, don't think I diet yea.. Carysse never ever diet. Too many ppl during lunch time and yeah, for breast meat/wing part I had to wait about 10mins cause out of stock. This 10mins was according to the mgr, can you believe roast chicken will complete in 10mins? Marketing strategy again....

Finally, the chicken arrived after waited for more than 30mins...

Friday 29 May 2009, 8pm (Dinner)

We had our dinner with our MIL and also Linda, as she was here for interview on Sat. So, we went to Dragon-I. This was Justin's favorite "La Mian with Brazil beef brisket (Spicy)" RM15.
And we ordered a side dish "Sauteed spare rib with signature sauce" RM22. Delicious and satisfying meal!
Saturday 30 May 2009, 12pm (Lunch)

After Linda's interview, we headed to a Japanese restaurant. Aih, I forgot the name of this restaurant. But it's at 1Utama, LG. And we ordered 4 different sets. The above was sliced pork.
Salmon set.

This was mine. Chicken!

And Linda's set, dumpling mee. I think her favorite cause wherever she goes, she will order wantan mee. Hehe..
Sunday 31 May 2009, 12pm (Lunch)

After Sunday church, we went to Sunway Pyramid, thought of getting a nice sport shoes, but I was too fussy and couldn't find the style tat I like. This time lunch was at Laksa Shack.
Singapore Laksa

Nyonya Laksa. I still miss the Malacca's nyonya laksa the most.

And we walked next door to Secret Recipe for durian cheesecake. Yummy yummy.

Friday 5 June 2009, 6pm (Dinner)

Thanks to Canny, this time was her treat! She brought me and hubby to Fong Lye at The Gardens, Mid Valley for the amazing Taiwan food. She ordered green beans ice kacang. First time trying this and it tasted good. Special.

Canny ordered sliced beef with ginger style. Delicious and I actually finished off all the onion leaves for her. Hahaha....
My meal, fish and egg in tomato sauce.

The one set of mine..

And Justin's favorite, as usual. Beef Noodle!

Thanks so much Canny! Really appreciate it... hehe.

So, that was how I celebrated my 2009 birthday flooded with heavenly food! Eventhough they were not expensive fine-dining food, yet I still enjoyed every moment of it because I celebrated with different group of people. First with my family, second with Justin and third with Canny! All those moments were really an unforgettable one. As long as your loved ones are with you always, the rest does not matter! So, treasure those moments...... ~cheers
