Baby V at 8 Weeks

Date : 28 April 2016

How far along : 8 Weeks

Weight : 4.65kg at 4 weeks checkup

Height : 53cm at 4 weeks checkup

Sleep : Yeayyy!! Hoorrayy!! Baby Girl adjusting well to what we call day and night. Now, she naps in the morning, naps in the afternoon and sleeps in the night! At night, she can sleep straight from 9pm-3/4am and then wakes up to nurse and goes back to sleep. Then, it will be every 2 hours of nursing. At least, that long stretch of sleep gives this sleep deprived mama a very good break.

Food : Fully Breastmilk! Mommy is extremely proud to say that you are doing such a great job because you accepted both nipple and bottle! You do not have any nipple confusion. So, this makes mommy work harder to stock up the freezer with frozen breastmilk just in case we would need to use them in future. Mommy called this plan as "Breastmilk Continuity Plan". Just like in any company, they need to roll out a "Business Continuity Plan" in case of any disaster. You do accept the fishy taste of the frozen breastmilk as well, without any fuss. And mommy is proud to say that the freezer is almost full with the frozen breastmilk. Yeay!

Best moment this week : Whenever I'm escaping from the room, your head will turn 180degrees to see where I go. And when you didn't see me, you started to "Aaakkk .. aaaakkkk" and kicks around. I find this so cute! It's like you didn't want mommy to go out from the room, thus your eyes are following me.. haha. Oh yeah, not to forget... almost everyone said you are daddy's clone! Daddy's junior. Finally, there's one child in the family that looks like exactly. Because jie jie and kor kor look exactly like mommy! Hehe. And you know what, you have the best Jie Jie and Kor Kor because they just love to be with you.. all the time! When they see you, they smile so sweetly! Awww..mommy's precious babies!

Baby V at 6 Weeks

Date : 15 April 2016

How far along : 6 Weeks

Weight : 4.65kg at 4 weeks checkup

Height : 53cm at 4 weeks checkup

Sleep : Oh baby girl, you're currently still in EMEA timezone. You sleep well in the morning and afternoon, but middle of the night, about 2am onwards you are quite alert. You drink, you peed, you poop... and this cycle goes on until about 7-8am! Mommy is zombified baby girl! Mommy hope that you can adjust to our timezone soon. Your momma needs sleep so badly. Haha.

Food : You're a breastfed baby! We can go on to be exclusively breastfeed, but once or twice a week, mommy will bottle feed you with frozen breastmilk (EBM) so that your tastebud accepts both fresh milk from the tap and also frozen breastmilk which tastes a little weird- fishy smell. Sorry to say that you just gotta learn to bottle feed just in case of emergency - mommy is not available or mommy needs to run some errands. Of course, mommy will bring you wherever I go. Don't worry sweetie... mommy will always be there for you =)

Best moment this week : Mommy has been spotting you SMILING! Especially after your milk when you are full and content. And sometimes you are smiling in your sleep! So cute! You can even lift up your head when you are on your tummy, and turn your head left and right. And you are learning to coo! Your baby coos are so so cute... Mommy got lots of videos of it. We will show them to you when you are older.

We love you so much baby girl. You have brought so much joy to this family. From just the two of us, to your big sister, then big brother and then you, the little sister! We pray that you will grow up wise and intelligent, healthy and strong, filled with His grace and goodness! Muacks!!

Nyonya Restaurant Fullmoon Package

First of all, I would like to thank all my family members and friends that came all the way to visit our little bundle of joy. Indeed, she has brought so much joy to this family. From just the two of us, to three and then four and now FIVE! God is so so good! We couldn't have asked for more... He gave us the perfect gifts from Heaven. Our little miracles.

Baby V is now 1 month old. Happy fullmoon little one!

We ordered the traditional fullmoon gift pack from Nyonya Restaurant for our family and friends. No deposit required, but they do not provide free delivery upon purchase of a certain amount. It's not expensive as well, feel free to check out their website. We ordered the package which cost RM8.90 per box (exclude GST). The pack consists of 2 pieces of chicken, 2 angku kuih, 2 red eggs and 1 nasi kunyit. The chicken portion is big (most of the packs come with chicken breast/thigh - not the bony parts) and the curry tastes good. The angku kuih is freshly baked. But the nasi kunyit is a little too dry, hence, it's a little too hard. Overall, we're satisfied with the pack.

We did survey few other fullmoon gift pack but we decided to just go ahead with this. Other companies have more choices of gift packs like roast chicken/marble cake/cupcakes.. but we decided to order the traditional set, that comes with the red eggs, angku and nasi kunyit. At least it looks more traditional, as in why we celebrate fullmoon when baby is 1 month old.

Happy Fullmoon Victoria ~ 1 Month

Hello baby Girl! How much we love you. And oh, how much you have grown from a 2.84kg newborn to a whooping 4.67kg and from 49cm height to 53cm - at 1 month old! You are growing well baby girl, and that's what we love to hear and see. Your doctor is very pleased with your growth as well. When the doctor asked what susu am I giving, mommy said you are fully on breastmilk, and the doctor said "Well done mommy!" A big pat on my back. All the sleepless night and constant nursing is finally paid off. Thank you baby for growing so well. Every time when I look at you, you are such a perfect and healthy little baby, my heart will be filled with thanksgiving and all I can say is Thank you Jesus for a perfect baby girl.

The first month with you was great, we are so in love with you. Despite the extremely lack of sleep, whenever mommy sees you, automatically my strength is recharged. Somehow I gained the full force of energy again. That's how powerful you are, my strength and joy.

In the past one month, we were trying to adjust here and there. Mommy roughly got your sleeping and drinking schedule. Basically, your timezone is EEMEA. You're quite alert middle of the night, especially from 1am-7am. And during that time, you drink, poop, drink, poop, and you repeated the process until  7am! So, by 7am... mommy is begging you to go back to sleep. Haha. Hopefully by 2months old you can adjust to the APAC timezone.

You are drinking well, butI'm not sure how much you drink because you are exclusively breastfed. But when you were admitted to the hospital for jaundice, the nurse fed you 3oz. You love direct latching more than bottle. Sometimes you rejected the bottle, but baby... you need to learn both. Just in case mommy needs to run some errands. Mommy stocked up some breastmilk in the freezer and hopefully you accept the fishy taste of the frozen breastmilk.

Your Big sister and Big brother are so helpful! They just love to see you, be with you, talk to you and whenever they hear you cry, they will run to me and say "Mommy, baby cries". When you pooped, they offered to take the diaper, wet tissue, diaper cream... awww, how much I love them. They are the best sister and brother ever! They adapt easily to the new change and they are independent (except for eating and showering). When mommy is busy feeding and taking care of you, they take care and play with one another. That's so sweet of them. You have the best big sister and big brother!

You are learning how to smile and respond to sound. Jiejie and Korkor love to talk to you and kiss your little feet. And when you swing your hands and legs high up in the air, they sing the song "I like to move it, move it. I like to move it, move it." Welcome to a fun and happening family baby! We can't wait to do more things together as a family. Picnic. Swimming. Traveling. Holiday-ing.

You're growing so fast.. one month passed just like that. Oh, Mr Time, you gotta go slower. Mommy needs to enjoy you being a baby as much as possible.

That's all for now little sweetie... we pray that you grow up strong and healthy and we love you more than words can say!

We will always be there for you little sweetie.. =)
