The Power of List - 2007 By Pastor Kevin Loo

The Power of List - 2007
by Pastor Kevin Loo, City Harvest Church KL

Habakkuk 2:2
Then the LORD answered me and said:
“ Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it."

Matthew 7:24
24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

The wise man builds his house upon the rock but the foolish on the sand. This is the rock of learning from the past mistakes and building on our strength. People who build on a solid foundation and work on their weaknesses is wise. They learn from their mistakes to make sure that they do not fall into the same trap again. But the fool cares nothing of this. Their aim is to satisfy their immediate desire, though it may not be of any important at all. Friends, let us not be like the fool. Let us be wise.

It doesn't matter how you start your year, but it does matter how you end your year. Be overcomers by year 2008. The future is like a piece of blank paper. God has given us the paint of faith to draw the future we desire to see. If we are doing it right within the will of God, He would definitely prosper us. He would even help us paint a better tomorrow.

But what is this thing with new year resolutions? Is it really necessary? Why do people go list-crazy at the end of every year?

1. God made us to do it.
2. It is us who write it.

  • Your list pretty much determines your life and your priority.
  • Our lists give us that sense of identity and that sense of achievement.
  • Our lists tell us how we have spent our life and how much time we have left.
  • It is solely for the purpose of comparison and competition so that we do better next year.
The 10 characteristics of a list :

1. Write down a list regarding everything you lead and manage.
2. Write lists of those things you need to do, then do them, one by one.
3. Write down the list of follow-up things you need to do.
4. Put the most important one at the top. Not everything urgent is important.
5. Do first things first, last things last!
6. Write down your vision list- for this year, for the next 10 years and for your life.

Psalm 37:2323
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.

We must plan and let the LORD directs.

7. Write down your goals for today, this week and this year.
8. Write down your plans and strategies.
9. Tick them off as you do them.
10. List is simple, but amazingly powerful!

Homely Christmas Celebration on 25 December 2007

I was surfing the web and suddenly, City Harvest KL came into my mind and I decided to take a look at their website to see if there are any updates for Christmas. And I found this beautiful statement from Pastor Kevin.

2000 years ago, God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ into the world, to die on the cross for us. He gave us His best in exchange for the best gift for mankind – salvation. It was because of love that God did that. It is His nature. The Bible tells us that it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us. Thus Christianity is a faith, a relationship motivated by love. It is not driven by fear or any other selfish desires. But is it costly? Yes. Is it risky? Yes. It is risky because we may love but that love may not be reciprocated. But we still love. We still give. The world will think that such action is silly. However, if our motivation is Christ and our desire is to show love to the world, then I must say it is worth it. And we should go all out and make the most out of such a beautiful message. A revelation of love is always more powerful than a revolution of anger. - Ps Kevin Loo, CHC KL.

Well, indeed God is always our good God that He ALWAYS give. Anything that you asked in prayer, he answered and give all that you want according to His will. Therefore, Christmas is a season of giving. Give love, joy and peace to the world and people around you regardless who they are because God created them. Give your time by praying for people, nations and God's Kingdom. All the time, gifts which are bought by using money cannot be replaced by gifts of love. Therefore, during this season, spend time with your family and your loved ones. Provide love and joy to the whole family for the entire life, not only during festive seasons because love and joy cannot be bought by $.

25 December 2007 was a remarkable day as this was the first time me and Justin prepared food for his family members for Christmas. Can you imagine that, Christmas.. and not any other normal days. Wahaha... Wow, really scared as I'm not really good in cooking western food, except to buy those ready made chicken, prawns..bla bla bla and fry them. Hahaha...

On 23 Dec, right after we reached home from Singapore, we went straight to Jaya Jusco to buy the necessary ingredients. We bought Salmon, prawns, chickens, macaroni and cheese, fruits and also sparkling juices.

Menu for Christmas 2007 :
1. Grilled Salmon
2. Roast Chicken
3. Mashed potatoes
4. Butter prawn with Nestum
5. Macaroni and Cheese
6. Fruit Salad
7. Christmas Cake
8. Sparkling juice

25 Dec 07, 12am..
I was so surprised when Justin brought out a huge Snoopy and placed it right in front of me. Wow, my Snoopy!!! I love Snoopy so much and I just can't understand why.. ehehe. Thanks Justin for the big Snoopy..hahaha.

25 Dec 07, 12pm..
We started to prepare all the food and hope all the food works with the printed recipes! Haha.. The kitchen was extremely messy with all the ingredients and also chunks of recipes. After cooking, lots of cleaning to do lo.. Anyway, we do enjoy exploring cooking new food.. hehe.

Sparkling Juice...

Butter prawns with Nestum which was prepared by me.. hehe. Way of cooking is easy, because I look for an easy recipe. :P
First of all, I marinated the prawns with Garlic spices for one night. Then, I mixed the prawns with an egg, flour and salt. Fry and drain them. After that, I melt a spoonful of butter in a saucepan and fry with garlic, salt, sugar, curry leaves and chilli. Add in the fried prawns and lastly, add Nestum. This is the outcome of the recipe.. hehehe.

Justin's Macaroni and Cheese topping with Mozarella cheese.

Justin's mashed potato..

Roast chicken prepared by me..

Fruit Salad prepared by me.. first time preparing this and I love it!!

Christmas Cake bought by Aunty Helen!

Fuh.. everyone did enjoy the food and we couldn't walk properly after that. Fullest.. wahaha!!
Lastly, Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!
God bless all of you and may His blessings brings hope, love, peace and joy for the year ahead!!!
Welcome to 2008!!!

Truly life is not measured by how many breaths we take but by how many moments that take our breaths away!

God Has Bigger Plans by Pastor Sam

God Has Bigger Plans
by Pastor Sam, Grace Family Sanctuary Banting

Introduction
- Covenated people are never abandoned or forsaken by God

Lamentations 3:31-3331 For the Lord will not cast off forever.
32 Though He causes grief,
Yet He will show compassion
According to the multitude of His mercies.
33 For He does not afflict willingly,
Nor grieve the children of men.

Jeremiah 29:1111 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Called with a Destiny- Believes in God's unconditional love
- Covenated people are destined people
- Believes in God's possibilities
- Believes in God's divine provision
- Believes in God's divine favor and protection
- Believes in God's divine power to deliver

Esther 2:8-118 So it was, when the king’s command and decree were heard, and when many young women were gathered at Shushan the citadel, under the custody of Hegai, that Esther also was taken to the king’s palace, into the care of Hegai the custodian of the women. 9 Now the young woman pleased him, and she obtained his favor; so he readily gave beauty preparations to her, besides her allowance. Then seven choice maidservants were provided for her from the king’s palace, and he moved her and her maidservants to the best place in the house of the women. 10 Esther had not revealed her people or family, for Mordecai had charged her not to reveal it. 11 And every day Mordecai paced in front of the court of the women’s quarters, to learn of Esther’s welfare and what was happening to her.
Chosen For A PurposeEsther 4:88 He also gave him a copy of the written decree for their destruction, which was given at Shushan, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her, and that he might command her to go in to the king to make supplication to him and plead before him for her people.
Consecrated For the Challenge
- .."Go gather together all the Jews who are in Susa and fast for me.. I and my maids will fast as you do.."
- Prayer is a principal thing, fasting is a fasting humiliation of the soul.
Courageous to Face Eventualities
- ..."I will go to the King, even though it is against the law, And if I perish, I perish.."
Confirmation God's in Control
Esther 6:1

1 That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.
- God is in control and always at work, yet Mordecai and Esther had to act. If God is for us, who will be against us... :)

8 November 2007 Ulu Yam

HAPPY DIWALI everyone!! Not only Indians celebrate Diwali, but even Chinese and Malays also share this day!! I love holidays.. give me more holidays!!!!

On this public holiday, me and my old KTAR mates decided to go Ulu Yam to find our most busy friend. It's really extremely hard to date her for any gathering, even a small yum cha also we failed to date her. Really a busy woman, as busy as a CEO. Due to this, me, Lay Ling, Chih Lih, Kim Lean and Soh Wen decided to drive all the way down to Ulu Yam just to meet up with her. Who knows, really a sad case.. she forgot that we have already dated her one week ago. :( Aih, busy until forget?? I'm so sad...

We tried to call her several times until the dial ended with a voice mail. Fail to meet her again?? :( We reached Ulu Yam about 10.30 am and we still failed to contact her. Everyone seemed to be kinda of disappointed as we drove all the way down to Ulu Yam. Thought wanna have lunch with her *expected her to bring us to the famous loh mee..slurpsss*and then go for waterfall, mana tahu.. ended up 5 of us at a "non famous" Loh Mee stall.

Finally, we managed to contact her.. mana tahu she was like a Sleeping Beauty.. lolz. Really a good sleep until she can't hear her phone rang at all..

Her make up sets..

We decided to go for steamboat for lunch but too bad, the shop only opens at night...so, where to go now??

At last, Thai restaurant was the final decision..This is how the shop looks like.. and this is the place where you can get good food.. haha.

My Luk Mei *cannot see the food rite*.. super nice.

Our Thai mee hoon.. yummy yummy... hehe

Yoh, just by the look and you will know how sour and spicy it is !!!

Thai style fried fish.. first time trying this style, and it's really awesome!

Kesian the fish.. left the bones.. look at the number of chopsticks koreking the meat..haha.

She's always like this.. dunwan to take pics. Haih... :(

After makan, then it's time for air panas. Too bad, the pics are with Chih Lih and not sure when i can get all the pics. So, no pics for air panas..
Sampat college girls taking group photo.. haha. As if I'm the main actress right in the middle rite.. haha.

Me, Chih Lih and Yen Foong.. =P

Lolz, Chih Lih.. dunla spoilkan our pic!! Jealous?? No worries, I can always have a photo with u too.. *bler. Hahahaha....

Yeah, perfect shot with Foong.. hehe. No more lamp post this time.. haha.

Dinner time again.. im gaining weight!! Seriously!!!

That's all bout the trip to Ulu Yam. Guess it's more into makan trip than gathering trip. Hahaha...

5 November 2007 | Kepong : Restoran Fortune Steamboat

Well, let me begin something bout food again! Gosh, without realising, I'm putting on freaking weight!! Help me!! I just can't resist from eating good and extra large food. Can you believe that?? *sakit kepala* If you're my good friend, bring me out for jogging/exercise..else I will feel guilty for eating so much.. :(

Yoh, I better stop talking bout FAT and LEMAK. Let's continue with my blurbs.. :P
Just a diet secret to share with everyone especially gurls... if you're hungry, dun go to JJ or Carefour.. else you will definitely grab more things than usual. Everything seem to catch ur eyeballs and in the end, you will fill up the whole trolley.. true? Hahaha..

Almost everyday, we cook at home and till today..Justin said, It's time to rest and let's enjoy BUFFET STEAMBOAT!!! *understanding bf rite..haha* Yeah.. we were pretty excited when we discussed bout the stuffed fish balls, all sorts of mushrooms, prawns, crabs, cuttle fish, sotong, fish, and the all kinds of balls.. yummy yummy. Like Jakun rite.. =P Our stomach started to make all kind of noises when we imagine all the yummy food.. haha.

This is the steamboat buffet at Kepong which was introduced by my colleagues. Quite clean and good environment, maybe because it's still new. The food are quite clean as well, thumbs up for this newly built shop!! Price is reasonable as well *eat all you can*, RM18.80 for adult, RM16.80 for children from 125cm-140cm, RM 8.80 for children below 125cm and baby is free. Privilege to be a baby rite.. so, stay young forever!!

*Forgot to bring my digicam, but my Treo serves me good!!! Proud of you Treo!!!*

Justin waiting patiently for the ying yong soup to boil.. Chicken and tomyam soup!! Yummy yummy.. slurps!!

Now it's me starring at all the food in front of me!

Yeah!!! Time to eat... wahahaha... Look at this pic if you're hungry!! Guarantee ur saliva will flow.. haha.

3 rounds of food was superb filling and it's time for dessert!! Too bad, choco chips was out of stock and the only flavors left were jagung, strawberry, honey dew and peach. Haih.. anyway, the jagung and strawberry were delicious too. It's not the cheap kind of ice cream, but specially delivered by Kings' ice cream.. so you can imagine how good is that until we had 3 cups of ice cream.. haha.

Finally, due to the filling stomach, we decided to take a walk at Jaya Jusco Kepong just right opposite the shop. First time being there and yeah, I prefer Jusco Kepong than Jusco Wangsa Maju.. so much difference and so much more bigger. Too bad, it's quite a distance..

It's time to say Goodbye to our Super Super Senior. It's always a sad feeling to say either "Goodbye", "Farewell", "See you soon"..all these words are emotional words especially when there's a strong bond of friendship! Of course we do hope we don't have to bid farewell, but as days passed, we still have to wish you all the best and take care and hope to see you soon. It's still the fact that you will leave us in HP.. :(

Anyway, forget bout the sad story.. why la I spoiled the mood. Lolz.. Our last meal with Ashish? *as if he's not coming back anymore* haha. We had our dinner with Ashish at Restoran Sayur-Sayuran, Sri Hartamas. When I heard of vegetarian food.. I was like.. huh?Vegetarian food? Are you sure? Well, I will definitely follow the crowd.

He's the farewell guy, so he shall decide our meals! He seems to be busy ordering food.. guess what he's saying rite now? Well, I think he's saying the word "Order" because his mouth looks like a bola.. pronouncing Order..haha.
