She's 27 weeks old!

The cutie pie has now hit the 6 months mark which we were pretty excited about because she can start on her semi-solid food and I get to capture her first facial expressions tasting puree other than milk. I've missed out recording her milestones for few weeks because we had a really really rough weeks before. The sweetie was down with fever and ulcers in the mouth (suspected hfmd) and when she recovered, it was my turn to fall sick with HFMD and this week, the hub got infected with HFMD. So, it's time to get up and command the viruses to die and leave the house!

Date : 4 April 2012

How far along : 27 weeks

Weight : 7.5kg

Height : 65cm

Sleep : Her sleeping pattern is quite established for now. But some of the nights she has some drama and we have to cuddle her, calm her or gave her the pacifier. Other than that, for normal days, she fall asleep on her own after her last feed. =)

Food :
We bought Avent steamer + blender and it works really great. Save a lot of time especially when preparing her porridge early in the morning before going to work. And here was her history of starting semi-solid as early as 5.5months.
  1. We started off with Cerelac baby rice and she's fine with it, no allergy
  2. She was down with fever and ulcers and we stopped semi-solid for the time being and only milk
  3. After she recovered, we gave her Cerelac and few hours later, rashes appeared near her mouth. She got allergy to baby rice out of a sudden.
  4. The next day, we tried again Cerelac and it was the same outcome. We decided to put on hold Cerelac.
  5. 2 days later, we tried Rusks and no symptoms, her body accepts Rusks. No allergy till to date.
  6. At 26+ weeks, we tried anchovies + carrot porridge and her body reacts. She got allergy.
  7. Today, we tried plain porridge and see if her body accepts it with no allergy. Hopefully her digestive system works fine with porridge and I do hope the anchovies was the caused of the allergy. At least she still can consume porridge but with other ingredients.
Best moment this week: She has mastered the skills of rolling and now she can roll from back to front or front to back easily without any help. She can pass object from one hand to another. Her eye hand coordination works great, we moved object from left to right and her hands will reach out to grab those items. She can grab her feet but yet to put the feet into her mouth. Now she's learning how to lift up her whole body and soon she will be learning how to crawl. *hugs*

  2. She's allergic to rice, very rare cases but look up in google and a lot of babies have the same problem. Will check with her PD and see what he says.... how's your preparation so far? bought anything already? I wish I'm staying in US, the things there are soooo cheap!

  3. i am doing good so far. as u can see in my blog, i am jotting down my journey of maternity too. :)

usa cheap? hmm. in terms of buying power, yes! in terms of medical bills, i don't think so. if tak ada insurance, sure lagi jialat. and they don't give you ultrasound scans every 4 weeks u see the gynae lor. only 3 times through out your pregnancy. once when u found out u r pregnant, once at week 20 to determine ur gender, and once at week 36 to determine baby's position. that's it.

seriously, it's weird to know that ashlynn is allergic to rice. it's seriously rare eh.
