Well, this was actually my first time hearing such food called "Pun Choy". When it was first recommended by my makan gang, I was like... Pun Choy, apa tu?? Hahaha.. forgive me for not knowing so many of the Chinese Cultures eventhough I'm a born Chinese. In fact, I just got to know what is "Lo Sang" last year!! That's absolutely unforgivable... rite?
We had our Pun Choy yesterday night at Kampung Baru Sg Buloh and it was considered half a nightmare for being lost until Kampung Bharu Subang!! Both were totally different places and yet, we thought we were at the right place. So, the landmark is... look for this school located at Jalan Perkhidmatan, Sg Buloh. Before you reach this school, you will actually pass by Jalan Welfare. LYJ pun choy is just opposite of this school.
If you have a GPS, it will be better and solve all the hassles turning left and right, Uturn up and down looking for the right road..
Otherwise, use this map as the guide, provided by the restaurant.
They have two Restoran LYJ left and right with the same name. They actually belong to the same owner. Anyway, ours was located on the right corner. Well, reservation is needed so that you do not have to wait and sometimes can even out of tables.
This was the restaurant that we had our pun choy yesterday night.
It's pun choy, not steamboat yea.. hehehe.
The makan gang gals.... at least we're still able to maintain our *size after regular makan trips. hahaha...
Lo Sang ~ big for RM38. This was really good! Superb and I just love the crispy brown thing (looks like kuey teow)... haha.
All mine??? wahahahaha...
Come come... it's time for LOO LOOO LOOOOOOO...... until the sesame can even dropped on Jenny's hair. Too ganas this makan gang peeps... hahaha.
Complimentary fried vege for ordering their famous pun choy.. btw, there's even shark's fin soup here. Looks so tempting when the next table order this dish! *just can't control my saliva when they started to scoop and distribute* Sigh... I also want..............
Finally, ours had arrived with abalone and scallops!! Yummy yummmy........ first time eating fresh abalone as well. hehehehe... *drooling* Look at the big portion and only 9 of us eating this big *basin.. do you think we can finish????
We didn't know that there were still hidden treasures at the bottom of the veges... and proudly we thought we can finish all of them, until we lifted the vege and woww.... meat and more meat... bet Julia will just enjoy this meal... haha.
We were already super full and still... left this much!! Finally, tapao tapao tapao.. So, if you would like to eat pun choy, better bring more friends. 15 ppl should be just nice........

Overall, having to try pun choy for the first time was really great. This big set of pun choy with abalone cost bout RM480 and added up the rice, kacang, lo sang and everything, cost us bout RM530. The more ppl you have, the merrier and cheaper it will be. Furthermore, the portion is really big, so..... invite more ppl! If less than 10, you will definitely suffer by stuffing too much meat in your tummy... haha.
