I miss my F.A.M.I.L.Y !!

The last trip back to Sitiawan was during Chinese New Year and it was so long long time ago. I would wish if I could go back as often as I can because now only left my parents at home. Go home and bring laughter! Hehe.... This trip, my grandma tagged along too and she made us wonderful food! I like!!!

I asked my mom for bak zhang when I reached home and the next day, ingredients were all ready in the kitchen. Wow!! It's good to be home rite.. haha.

Fried pulut rice, ready to pack in the leave...

The leaves... I don't know what leaves are this. I just called it bak zhang leaves. Haha.

And my grandma, busy wrapping the pulut rice + fried meat and wrapped it nicely into triangle shape. Unfortunately, I can only sit and accompany her, watch her how to do it because I don't know how to wrap. I will try it when I'm free cause I brought home the leaves. Let's hope it turn out successful... hehe.

Nicely wrapped.... super hungry when I see this! And I brought home 15!! Nice! Thanks to you grandma, I know you're tired!

Total, 2kg of pulut rice can wrap up to 50 bak zhangs...

Ready to steam and then ngam ngam ngam............. yummy yummy!

And my grandma remembered that I love her curry paste and she brought this all the way from Butterworth for me! So nice of her and truly, I was really touched! I love my grandma...

And my loving brother, bought this secret recipe cake for my birthday..... Blueberry cheese cake!

And Dark Chocolate cheese cake!! Delicious!! Happy Birthday to me!

My grandma and my mom... .the photocopy!

And my grandma, my mom and me........ the three photocopy faces!! Hahaha..... we really look alike rite. From here, I know how I will look like when I reach that age? LOL......
And lastly, thanks to my mom cause she always prepare lots of fishes + chicken for me to bring home to cook. A big tong until Brilly thought we went for fishing! Hahaha....
It's really nice to be home.... so, go back as often as you can! Be an obedient children and God will bless your family because He says, Obey your father and mother! =)

Phuket | 7-10 May 2010

Every year, there must be at least a beach trip! We just love the relaxing beach, deep blue sea, crystal clear water and sun-tanning! Such a nice trip after a whole year of struggling and get yourself busy with the hectic city life, busy working as if there's no tomorrow and everyday is just like that, Mon-Fri work and work. Weekdays passed by so slow, but weekends - zoooom... and it's Monday again. Thus, I always like to plan my trips on Monday because Mon is always blue... haha.

This year we planned for Phuket since we've not been there before! Last year was Krabi and it was an amazing trip. Lots of good memories and yeah, next year I will be back to Krabi! We arrived at Phuket and I was sort of disappointed with the town and hotel because Phuket is already too commercialized and the hotel even though is 4 star, is not as elegant as the one in Krabi. I set too high hope on Phuket trip and thus, easily get disappointed by little little things. Anyway, 4 more days to go and yeah, enjoy to the fullest!

Day 2 : We booked full day at Phi Phi

This was the greatest mistake that we had done. Initially we thought that by traveling to Phi Phi with a big boat, we have more time for snorkeling and then lesser time spend on island hopping. Example : Hop from Maya bay - monkey beach.. etc. This big cruise only stop at Phi Phi Don and then sent us to Maya Beach for snorkeling. Through this, we assumed we have more time for snorkeling, but we were wrong! Totally wrong.. instead, we spent most of the time sailing on the sea with this big boat a.k.a cruise. Sigh.... We arrived the jetty at 9am, waiting for everyone to arrive and we depart at 10am. Arrived Phi Phi Don at 11.30am and let the tourists who are staying Phi Phi down. Then sent us for snorkeling at 11:45am, and 45 mins to snorkel. 1pm we are actually back at Phi Phi Don to have our lunch and 2.30pm, depart home. Terrible.... thus, remember.... don't ever choose cruise unless you don't want to snorkel. This disappointed day ate up our 650 BHT = RM65. I was totally disappointed and moody!! Anyway, learn from mistakes!

At least... we got to taste the experience on cruise and some shots on this big boat. Perhaps I could say we spent RM65 for the experience... ;P

Our one and only one snorkeling stop for Day 2 at Phuket. And it's only 45 mins... so sad. I don't get enough of the fishes.

Relaxing at the Phi Phi Don beach while waiting for the cruise to depart at 2.30pm.

Oh Yeah... remember that you bring some money when you go for island hopping because some island, you need to pay entrance fees. Before entering Phi Phi Don, you actually need to pay 20 BHT and then only you can enter. The 20BHT will be used as budget to preserve the cleanliness of this beach. Day 2 at Phuket ended just like dat!

Day 3 : We booked full day at Raya Island.

Breakfast at Andaman Beach Hotel and I just loved their pancakes and waffles. Also, strawberry yoghurt with lotsa strawberries!!

Depart by speedboat.... never ever take the cruise again!

@ Raya Island.... 2 snorkeling stops at Raya Island. And yeah, I just love this day!

We rent this for 100BHT for full day..... nice!

Floating in the middle of the sea, but in the end the wave brought him back to the shore again. Justin was enjoying!!!

Along Raya Island after lunch.... free time and relaxing!

We swapped the float to this beach chair and add additional 100BHT for another chair. One pair is about 200BHT.

Sweet dreams.....

Overall, I really enjoyed the 3rd day more than 2nd day because 2nd day, we spent most of the time on the boat but 3rd day, on the beach... Cruise will be the first and the last trip! Never never ever ever book cruise for snorkeling, else you will regret!

I will have another Phuket 2 post on the food and night life! Stay tuned................... =D
Cheers! Where to go next year? Krabi again ? Hehehe......

House Renovation In Progress!

Last weekend we dropped by at our new home at new home and wow, all I can say is I hate renovation work! The dust alone is enough to make my life super miserable. I wonder how am I going to clean the whole house that is full of dust! See below and you just can't agree more with me. White dust, black stain.. and it's everywhere!

The materials used for the renovation work. Hopefully there's no scratches on the tiles. Otherwise, payback time! I really mean it ok!

Adding additional power point which cost RM95 per powerpoint, inclusive of hacking. Wow... anyway, this is really dirty job and it's not easy! Thank God I'm not contractors and thank God, I'm working in Office!

Look at the blackie fingerprint stain on the wall.... sad! Didn't know renovation will actually end up like this....

Master bedroom floor... just like sand. Again, if there's any scratches on the wooden floor, it's payback time too.

The dust is thick enough to make a foot print! Which contractor's footprint is this huh? Long foot!

Anyway, I just hope that this renovation will end as soon as possible. Hopefully by this week and we can carry on with the tedious painting job, then cleaning the whole house and finally.... setting everything right and move in!

El Meson Espanol - Spanish Restaurant and Tapas Bar

The most exciting about this meal is that I've finally met with Ashish! Ex-colleague in HP, same team as me and the last time I saw him was during his farewell at HERE! He's doing good and every year, there will be US business trip for him. How nice of it and it means, good to leave the team to explore a better career outside! Hope it will go the same to me.... God is always Good! And it's ALL the Time!

Initially, we decided to dine in at Rick's Cafe ~ Casablanca meal at One Bangsar but too bad, it already closed shop in 2009. So, we drove around Bangsar Village and we saw this interesting restaurant.

El Meson is just located right behind of Bangsar Village II, Madam Kwan is just next door.

I had a sip of this Sangria and I wanted to puke. It has alcohol in it. I thought it's like fruit juice. LOL. I'm so naive ok! I jug of this Sangria can fill up to 5 cups and cost about RM78. Luckily Mandy don't mind of the 2 sips. Haha..

Everyone had Heineken, Kilkenny, Sangria and me, I ordered Ice Blended Oreo Latte worth RM13.

Tapas Menu ~ Boquerones Bacon - Spanish anchovies wrapped with Bacon (RM16). The sad thing is only 3 pieces.... but nice!

Tapas Menu ~ Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms with chopped chorizo and beef, topped with melted cheese (RM18). This is seriously delicious! I like!!

Tapas Menu ~ Whitebait - Crispy fried little fish served with Allioli (RM14). I wonder when we ordered this and I thought it came together with the Bacon. Wow, I actually didn't know that this is little fish until I blog about this. LOL.

Pan fried Halibut served with stewed bean, Serrano ham andpotato confit (RM32).

Pan fried Chicken Breast stuffed with Serrano and Cheese served with Potato Wedges and Vegetables (RM38). This is definitely my order, delicious! Very filling even though it's only one chicken breast. Worth to order.. delicious!

Pork Chop - Premium bone-on chops, pan roasted and served with Sauerkraut and Roast Potatoes (RM42).

Penne Carbonara with Smoked Salmon and mushroom. (RM28)

Timbale of Lamb with saute spinach, rosemary and potato terrine and wild nut and orange molasse (RM42).

Mandy, Ashish and me!!

The total bill for the night... Once in a while is ok? Haha...

Hopefully we can meet up again just like this. It's really fun and we had fun chats that night. The 2nd stop was at Chawan for the same night until 1.30am. Not bad huh, I've not been to yum cha till that late. Wooot.. I love night life!! =D
