Exotic Chicken Curry - Recipe

Exotic Chicken Curry, does this sound interesting??? The word Exotic! Haha.... When it comes to the word Exotic, it reminds me of the last quarter's MATTA fair whereby I was so keen to visit the EXOTIC countries booth. The booth seemed to be interesting, riding camels in EGYPT which you don't dream to get in Malaysia. But, just afraid that you won't see me anymore after the trip there. Hopefully u get what I mean.. hehe.

Well, this recipe is pretty simple. Guess everyone can just cook this dish! Btw, I always look for easy and simple recipes!! Don't have to purposely make a headache just for food. It's enough to have headache outside, but not at home. So, build a happy family yea everyone!!

INGREDIENTS
1kg chicken drumsticks
200ml water
50ml thick coconut milk
5-6 tbsp oil

Spices (A) - grind finely
¼ cup cashew nuts
12 shallots
1 cup coriander leaves
½ cup mint leaves
10 green chillies
10 bird’s eye chillies
4 cloves garlic
2.5cm ginger
2cm galangal

Spices (B)
8 cardamoms, smashed
3 bay leaves
2 onions, cut into halve rings
1 tsp cumin powder
1½ tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp pepper

SEASONING:
1 tbsp lime juice
Salt and sugar to taste

METHOD:
Heat oil in a wok and fry spices (B) until fragrant. Add ground spices (A) and continue to fry until aromatic. Put in the chicken and fry well to combine. Pour in water and simmer covered for 15 minutes. Pour in coconut milk and continue to cook until chicken is tender and gravy is thick. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Simple BBQ Ribs- Recipe

This recipe looks simple rite... shall try it when I'm back. Marinade overnight and ready to cook the next day!!! Yohooo.... =)

INGREDIENTS2 1/2 pounds country style pork ribs
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons salt
1 cup barbeque sauce

DIRECTIONS
Place ribs in a large pot with enough water to cover. Season with garlic powder, black pepper and salt. Bring water to a boil, and cook ribs until tender.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Remove ribs from pot, and place them in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour barbeque sauce over ribs. Cover dish with aluminum foil, and bake in the preheated oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until internal temperature of pork has reached 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Pretty simple steps..
Complimentary from : Simple BBQ Ribs

Tips :
I always add a generous amount of garlic powder, ground pepper and 1 onion cut into wedges. My secret ingredient is to add a good amount of soy sauce 1/2-1 C approx. Boil for 45 mins-1 hour. Turn off heat, cover pan and let ribs marinate in the broth for several hours (I have let them sit for 4-5 hours). Great to put in the oven especially during the winter months, but best on the grill. If you want to make ahead put cooled ribs into plastic bag and add enough BBQ sauce to coat well. Refrigerate until ready to use and then cook with additional sauce.

After shopping, makan-lah... and we went to seafood at Telok Gong, Klang. When was the last time I had crabbys??? Crab is really one of my favourite longing for dish ler!!

The appetizer ~ junk food for appetizer???

Mia favourite sour and spicy crab... still prefer Fatty's Crab at Taman Megah. And the crabs were not really fresh as like all the seafood restaurants used to have.

Fried la-la mee hun. Not bad, but the quantity was too large for 3 tiny gals..

And this was their specialty, prawn in coconut. Tastes a bit like curry tomyam, try this and you will definitely love it!!

As for my Saturday outing, I had Estee Lauder make-over at Subang Parade. Well, I don't really like the way they set my hair, looked so messy and kembang and as if I didn't wash my hair for months or lack of treatment! I told the hair stylist that I don't like my hair, can you please tie and make it some pattern so that won't look like 9-11 after bomb? And she answered me this :"You look great in this hair style. Look cute and like baby doll style!" I was like huh????? I hate the most is the stupid BABY CHINA DOLL HAIRSTYLE and now you said I look cute in it? Sigh... forget bout it la. I think her limitation is only to curl and straighten.

I've never worked as a promoter and how's the taste of it?? Heard that Parkson has very tight rules for promoters. So, if you wanna be promoters, don't choose Parkson. Less, you suffer! Especially Parkson Subang. But, the rules were all FOR YOUR OWN "CUSTOMERS" GOOD!

I looked like a Malay?? Do I?? Well, when I showed my portrait to one of the promoters in Parkson, she said to me, "You nampak macam Melayu ah." I was like? Gosh, I look like Malay? Hahaha.. when I was small, my aunty said I talked like a Malay and now, when I grown up, the promoter said I look like Malay. *faint* I asked the promoter why you said I looked like a Malay and she answered, "Sebab mata you besar, selalu Chinese mata sepet." Good thing or not good thing? Hahaha.... So, next time my children's eyes must follow mine yea, God. My prayer and request...hehehehe.

Paddington Bear from Guardian. I collected points like mad and could not even get a small Paddington Bear, but Julia.... within 2 days, she managed to get 50 stamps to redeem the biggest bear. Sigh again...... nvmla, forget bout it la. Got the pics can arleady la...

Sudah besar panjang tapi mahu bear bear lagi..... =)

Santini @ Jaya One

Straight from the American-Italian kitchens, Santini restaurant offers a wide selection of delicious food fares, from wood fire pizzas to crunchy salads, creamy pasta and grills for weight watchers, all prepared with the freshest blend of ingredients. The restaurant, which was launched and lovingly run by Gino Santin, is now overseen by his daughter Laura, who brings her own very special touch to the business.

Established in 1984, Santini continues to offer both international and local customeres superb classical Italian dishes with a strong Venetian accent in an intimate an elegant dining room.

This restaurant has always been the haunt of top corporate and celebrity clients who appreciate the subtle mix of great, traditional Italian food and wine.

Olive Oil and vinegar to dip your bread..

Complimentary appetizer ~ Just a normal bread but taste much better than Gardenia. Of course lar duh..

Spaghetti Sicilian ~ De Cecco spaghetti with meat ball, chili and eggplant (RM26.90)

Braised Duck Leg ~ In wine sauce served with vegetables (RM 35.90). I had a try on this, and a person who dislikes duck like me eventually love this meal!! Really delicious, perhaps the wine managed to cover the strong duck smell. I guess my hubby will love this.....

Roasted Chicken Breast ~ With ricotta, cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and potato (RM32.90). This is definitely mine, anything deals with chicken breast is MINE! Hahaha... This is recommendable, really different from a normal roasted chicken breast. The chicken breast is rolled and stuffed with something like vege. I really dunno what's that, but very delicious!

Spaghetti Vongole ~ De Cecco with clams, olive oil and chili (RM23.90). After finishing this meal, Yen Fen said that she was very very satisfied. So, those who love clams, this is a good choice!!!

My chocolate milk shake... forever my favorite!!

The makan gang guys, Nicky, Chen Lai and Hon Nyan... we have a few more guys in our makan gang, unfortunately due to some work arrangement thingy, they failed to turn up.

The makan gang ladies, Jessey, Me and Yen Fen. We have 2 more makan gang ladies which are Mandy and Jenny, unfortunately, due to work again, they failed to join the makan session this time.
Anyway, last but not least, this place is really new to me, never heard of it before until yesterday. Haha... But, this restaurant is really recommendable if you love Italian food. Hopefully my major honeymoon will be in Italy next year?? Hehehehe... pray for me k. Wahaha.

Weekends ~ 7,8, 9 November.....

FRIDAY, 7 NOVEMBER 2008
=====================I went back to Wangsa Maju last Friday to meet up with my old friends together with my hubby. Reason is to pass them our wedding card! It's kinda early, but, if I were to drag on, then lazy plus busy me will not be able to accomplish our mission on time. Better do it early, since I'm still free on weekdays! Also, I really miss Wangsa Maju food. Wangsa Maju is well known for it's Curry Mee at Desa Setapak, Roti Canai at Melawati, Cendol at Sri Rampai, XXX Restaurant at Danau Kota (Big fish only RM10), Hokkien Mee at Genting Klang and finally my favorite Seri Niara at Melawati!!! I really miss all the hawker food here and which one should I go for our dinner then? I wish on that night I'm like a cow, 4 stomachs to fit at least 4 out of the 7 specialties! Tapao home and eat them next day?? Hahahaha.. crazy @.@

Finally, due to longing for the super delicious tomyam putih, kangkung belacan and ayam masak halia, we then decided to fill our stomachs at Seri Niara, Melawati.

Watermelon besar (RM4.50)... besarnya! Tapi, tak cukupla....

Kangkung belacan with sotong (RM4.50) ~ Still as delicious as last time..

Ayam masak halia (RM4.50) ~ Sedap sangat!

Tomyam putih (RM4.50) ~ Sedap sedap sangat!!

So, that's all about Friday night and now, it's Saturday shopping day again at 1Utama. Actually I didn't plan to go anywhere, but Justin's mom said she wanna come down PJ to shop, so, hmm.... shopping again!! My pleasure..... First of all, we hunted for Julia flower girl's shoes. Later on, earrings at Dynasty Parkson. Then, food........

Old Chang Kee ~ Our favorite curry puff. RM9.80 for 7. 1 for RM1.60. Hopefully I'm right with the prices, forgive me if I'm wrong. Hehehe..

And now, durian tarts to satisfy durian queen's soul!!!! Delicious!! Love em........ RM2.20 for one!
SUNDAY, 9 NOVEMBER 2008
======================
And now, look at all the collections below. My collections??? Hahahaha... Can you believe that I'm that crazy over earrings and necklaces? All these if added up together will cost thousands!!! Somemore claim that I'm super broke right, but still can spend on all these?? =)
If my mom knows this, I think I will have a long lecture when I'm back to Sitiawan. So, keep it secret everyone!! Hehe...

Well, the truth is they're all NOT mine!! Hahaha.... taking them for fun as these are all Justin's mom favoritas!!! =)

Oh my Lappy ~

After a long holiday last weekend and back to office on Tuesday, I was still in my holiday mood. I just don't feel like waking up on Tuesday morning after having a nice holiday back at hometown, waking up as late as 10am. Btw, not really a holiday tho, I was back to settle my marriage registration. Malaysia is not professional enough that registration can be done just anywhere in the state, but if you're from Sitiawan, then you must go back to the place where your IC was registered. They could just computerize everything and make things easier, but NO!! Ish ish ish....

Tuesday, 4th November 2008 - A history in my life! Eventhough I was so reluctant to wake up when the first alarm rang, but, due to reporting day/week, so... with enthusiasm in my heart and after a 4 days break, I woke up filled with energy and strength and enthusiasm to conquer the day! I dressed smartly and I was more than ready for work! I told myself, I need to reach office early to complete my report!
When I stepped into the office, I took out my laptop and made myself a cup of milo, added on some oats for a good heart. I'm not old la.. just need to have a better heart, cholesterol free heart! Haha.. I put my milo right in front of my laptop, and I saw one of my colleagues OC (an application like msn, but used within HP only) me asking for help. After replying, I then proceeded to my drawer to get my Activcard to login to the applications to generate report. Well, I just hope I could start my work earlier so that I will be free earlier!
But, who on earth knows that when I just got ready to login, my right hand accidentally hit the spoon in the cup and really unlucky enough, the whole cup of milo overturned and spilt right in front of my laptop!!!!!!!! I was stunned with the whole situation and really blank! I stared at my laptop for almost 10 seconds, not knowing wat to do. GOSH!!!! The whole laptop was flooded with milo, all the milo went in between the keypad leaving behind the oats on the keypad's surface. Furthermore, it's a new laptop recently changed from the 3 years recycle program. Then I called Justin how ar how ar how ar and he told me to shutdown and terbalikkan the laptop. So, I did as what he suggested and unfortunately, some of the milo were too stubborn.
At 9am, I quickly brought my lappy to the service center at ground floor, hopefully they could quickly remove the cover and clean the parts before the milo went into the motherboard or watever. Unfortunately, they were not able to perform the task unless I've logged a ticket, eventhough you're a HP staff. Aiks.. then I went back to my office, using my old laptop to log a ticket. I called the helpdesk, waited on hold for almost 15 mins and then only my call was picked up. The helpdesk gal said she will log a ticket for me, and she cannot even confirm when the technician will come to service my laptop. She promised me by end of today. END OF TODAY?? By end of today my laptop will be totally damanged la. Then, I went to the GET IT webpage to chat with one of the support team. He then helped me to log a ticket AGAIN and gave me the ticket ID, told me to send it to the service center straight. This sounds better, rather than I blindly and bodohly wait for the technician to come, anytime in the day. He can even come at 11:59PM rite, still end of the day. T_T
After that I sent my laptop to the service center and told them to prioritize this laptop because inside were all milo. The service center guy told me this, "Sorry, still the damaged has been done. You still need to wait 2-3 days." Huh????????!!!!!!!! Maybe you should learn how to separate between urgent and not urgent tasks! But, you shouldn't say like this to your customers nyway, learn how to comfort your frustrated and emo customer! Right?? Anyhow, still thank God that at 3pm, the service center technician called me and asked whether I have important files in my hardisk so that I can quickly backup all the data before the hard disk goes crazy. And he said, my hardisk loves milo. Hardisk was covered with milo! @.@ Haih.. from here you know how much you need to pay for the change of parts. Right??? Even hardisk was covered with milo, what else that can be free from milo? Sigh...............
I emailed my manager, better tell him earlier to prepare him before the bill comes. I was expecting a kind reminder or watever from him, but surprisingly, he was way too good that I realy can't believe. He replied my email and said, "Not an issue..." Wow, not an issue???????? You're realy good leh, I was expecting for some scolding or reminder actually.. haha. Thank GOD!!! I was supposed to start my report early and who knows ended up in tis...sigh.
Wow, really a long post to express my so called UNLUCKY DAY. Let's continue...... so, on 5th November, the service center called me again, said that four parts of the laptop needed to be changed. And total cost is RM2600. I was like huh??? So expensive? Better get new laptop then..... OMG, will my manager approve for this?? When comes to money thingy, managers will never approve easily. T_______________T

I walked all the way down to my manager's cubicle, behind of mine, and put on a pity pathetic face. I told him the whole situation and said the total cost might be RM2k ++. But staffs can get 30%. I can see that he swallowed his saliva, thinking hard and asked whether is a new or old laptop. My answer is new, just changed few months back. I just couldn't want to think what he will say about this, and finally he said, "No choice lo, since is a new laptop. Just send me the quotation and I will approve." WAHHHHHHHHH again!!!! He's toooooo goood la. Not even a word of reminder like "Next time, drink your milo in the pantry" or "Next time, milo put far far away" or "No more next time". Hmm.. do you have a good manager like this? Then I went back to my seat and quickly forward him the quotation with big smile in my heart =)
Finally, everything is settled and I'm now waiting for the parts to be replaced and can't wait to get back my laptop!!! Miss you sooo much......

Btw, this is my laptop. 6510b........ hehehehe.
THE END of my long post. Thanks for reading!!! Learn from my mistakes yea, don't put your drinks near your laptop....
